Cooperative Solutions And Customized Legal Advocacy

About The Firm

When you are faced with a divorce, child custody, support or other family law dispute, you need to know your options in order to select an approach that best meets your needs and the needs of your family. At Terre Family Law, Inc, our attorneys are experienced litigators, but we also know how to use mediation and cooperative approaches to resolve family law issues. Attorney Carla Boyd Terre is a Certified Family Law Specialist* and an AV Preeminent** attorney. Additionally, she was named one of Northern California’s Super Lawyers from 2021 to 2022 and named a “Rising Stars” ten years in a row noth by Super Lawyers Magazine. Carla is an experienced Mediator and is available to serve as a Mediator, Parenting Coordinator, or represent you as your individual attorney. Additionally, Associate Attorney, Janessa McCune, is available for all aspects of family law representation.  Carla and Janessa are available to assist you to resolve your matter as efficiently and expeditiously as possible, in the courtroom, if necessary, or through alternative dispute resolution whenever possible.

We focus our practice exclusively on divorce and family law matters. Though we protect your interests in divorce litigation, we prefer cooperative solutions when possible such as mediation, negotiation and other alternative dispute resolution approaches. Because our firm understands that every case is unique, we take the time to get to know our clients as individuals, learning about their goals so that we can craft specific solutions to divorce, child custody, visitation, support and property issues. We emphasize regular and candid communication, keeping clients informed at all stages of the process.

Our firm understands the value of communication and strives to constantly keep clients informed of the status of their cases. Though we have handled divorce trials as well as family law appeals, we prefer to help clients explore whether it is possible to amicably resolve family law matters. We help parties consider the needs of their families as a whole so that they do not walk away from a divorce or other family law dispute as enemies. This is especially important when children are involved.

We know from experience that writing is a significant part of a family law practice. The court’s decisions are based to a considerable degree on the effectiveness of written documents submitted by counsel. The success of negotiations can often depend on the ability to craft persuasive letters to opposing counsel.

Our attorneys bring a passion for writing to our practice and thrive on drafting effective written communications that help clients accomplish their family law objectives.
