Karin is a Sonoma county native (born in Sebastopol and raised in Graton). She attended Sonoma county public schools and is a graduate of El Molino High School. Karin received a certificate of completion from Empire School of Business in 1975, completed the Empire Paralegal Certification program in 1990, and attained a degree of Juris Doctor from Empire School of Law in 1995. While in law school Karin volunteered at the Sonoma County Law Library for several years working with the general public utilizing DissoMaster software to assist in resolving child support issues. Karin’s earliest employment was for the State Farm Northern Regional office for 14 years until 1991 when she became the Legal Secretary/Paralegal for the Law Office of James G. Bertoli; she was a Paralegal from 2000 to 2006 at Campoy & Bertram LLP; and has been a Paralegal with Terre Family Law since May 2007. Karin has volunteered on campaigns for the Judgeship of the Hon. James. G. Bertoli and Jill Ravitch’s first campaign for Sonoma County District Atty. In her time away from the office Karin enjoys reading, gardening, and sailing with her husband Michael.
